I Used To Last One Minute. Here Is What Actually Changed It

You are not really asking whether some technique works. You are asking whether you were simply built this way and have to live with it.

I asked that same question myself, in the same quiet voice. So let me answer it properly, with my own road rather than with claims.

The short answer

Yes. You can train yourself to last longer. I know because I did it, not because I read it somewhere.

But I am not going to hand you a trick, because a trick is what you already tried. I am going to tell you what actually changed it, and how long it actually took, and you can decide if you want that deal.

Where I started

I used to finish too fast. Not once, not on a bad night. That was just what sex was for me.

It cost me relationships. Worse than that, it made me small in my own eyes. I would walk into a room already carrying it. A man who cannot do the one thing he is supposed to be able to do. Nobody says it out loud, so you sit there thinking you are the only one.

If you are reading this at three in the morning with your phone brightness turned right down, I know exactly where you are sitting. I sat there too.

The road I actually walked

I want to lay it out plainly, because the shape of it matters more than any single technique in it.

At 23, I stopped drinking and started yoga.

That is where everything begins, and I did not know it at the time. I was not doing yoga for my sex life. I did not connect the two at all. But it was the first time in my life I felt my own body from the inside instead of thinking about it from the outside. That turns out to be the whole skill, and I stumbled into it by accident.

At 24, I moved to Japan.

That is where the spiritual side of my life opened up. Not in a soft, incense sort of way. Something cracked open and started asking questions I had no answers for.

At 29, I found Tantra.

Late. Six years after the yoga. I want you to see those gaps, because men come to me expecting the whole road in a month.

A week before I turned 30, I flew to an island in the south of Thailand.

I booked three months. I stayed five years.

That is where the real training happened. Taoist practice. Tantric yoga. Holding my seed. Breath work and energy work. Thousands of hours of it, day after day, most of them completely unglamorous.

My teacher was a man. But the people who taught me the most, the ones who taught me from actual experience, were women who were further down the road than I was. I say that without any embarrassment. They saw things about my body and my behaviour that I could not see, and they told me straight.

What actually changed it

Not one technique. If I had to name what shifted, it comes down to three things, and none of them is exciting.

One. I learned to feel arousal instead of only riding it.

Before, I had two settings. Nothing, and too late. There was no in between, because I had never once paid attention on the way up. I was a passenger.

Once I could actually feel where I was on the climb, I could do something about it. You cannot steer what you cannot feel.

Two. I learned that the body is the steering wheel.

The breath. The pelvic floor muscles. Where my attention sat. Those are the controls. They were on the dashboard the whole time and nobody had told me what they were for.

Three. I stopped treating sex as something that happened to me.

That is the one that changed my life, not just my bedroom.

The highway and the village road

Here is how I explain it to the men I coach.

Your old route is a highway. Three lanes, no turnings, no traffic lights. You have driven it thousands of times, so your body takes it automatically, at speed, without checking with you first. That is not a flaw in you. That is a road you built by driving it.

The new route starts as a village road. Rough, slow, you have to concentrate, and honestly the first few times you will wonder if it goes anywhere at all.

Every session lays a bit more surface on that village road. And here is the thing about roads. You do not knock the highway down. You just build the other one until your body starts choosing it on its own.

That takes repetitions. Boring ones. Wax on, wax off. Nobody enjoys the waxing. It looks like nothing is being taught. Then one day your hand moves on its own and you understand what all of it was for.

In my forties, it happened again

Different problem this time. Not speed. Hardness.

There I was, years into practice, years into teaching other men, in my own bed with the same worry that any man has. I could have hidden it. Instead I did what I tell you to do. I went back to the basics and worked them, month after month, no shortcut, no product.

It came back.

I tell you that for one reason. So you know I am not a guru standing above you with clean hands. I am one step further down the road than you. A slightly elder brother, turning round to say the ground is solid here, keep walking.

What nineteen years actually taught me

Nineteen years of practice now. Seven years coaching. More than a hundred men, across four continents.

And the biggest thing I have learned is not a technique. It is this.

There is no one fix that works on every man.

The cause is always in there. It is always findable. But it sits in a different place in every single guy.

For one man it is genuinely the muscles, and once he trains them things change fast. For the next man the muscles are fine and it is what happens in his head before anything even starts. For another it is his sleep. For another it is his marriage, or something he has never said out loud to anybody, and no amount of squeezing will touch it until that gets said.

This is why I get suspicious of anyone selling one method for all men. And it is why I always tell you to run your own experiments. Whatever I teach you, test it on yourself and see if it is true for you. Do not take it as dogma. Your body is the only laboratory that matters here.

What to expect if you start now

Week one. You find out how little you had been feeling. That is the whole result of week one, and it is a real result. Most men are surprised by how numb the ride up had become.

Week four. The scale becomes real. You feel the difference between one level of arousal and the next, and for the first time you bring yourself down from high on purpose instead of by accident. That is the moment the skill arrives. It is quiet. You will still doubt it.

Week nine. It starts showing up with a partner. Not perfectly, not every night. But there will be a night where you feel it coming, you do the thing, and you carry on. You will want to tell somebody and there will be nobody to tell.

Then it keeps building for years, which is the part nobody advertises because it does not sell.

Always remember, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

The thing I actually believe

Sex is trainable, the same way strength is trainable.

Nobody walks into a gym on a Monday and expects to lift heavy by Friday. Nobody calls himself broken because week one was hard. He just turns up again on the Wednesday, and the Friday, and six months later he is a different shape, and nobody is surprised.

Your sexual capacity works exactly the same way. It is not a fixed thing you were issued at birth. It is a skill sitting there untrained because nobody ever told you it could be trained.

I went from one minute to being a man who can lean back, lie in his own bed, and be the king. It took me years, and I will not pretend otherwise. But the road exists, it is walkable, and you are allowed to start today.

Make the rest of your sex life the best of your sex life.
